Studio Policy
The following has been outlined to assist you in understanding the policies of the studio – what is expected of you as a member, and what you can expect from us in return. Please help us keep your studio a great place to be!
For Students
-No gum in the studio.
-No horseplay anywhere in the studio.
-No food and drinks in the dance studio. Plastic bottles of water may be kept in the studio during your class. Please be sure to take them with you when you leave.
-Anyone found defacing the property in anyway will be dismissed from the studio and will pay the full cost of the damage.
-No street shoes are allowed in the dance studio and must be removed at the front entrance.
-Classes missed by students are non-refundable and cannot be made up.
-The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please leave your valuables at home.
-Spectators are not allowed in the class due to the size of the studio and it is distracting for the students.
-For safety reasons, no jewelry may be worn in class. Please leave jewelry at home.
-Label all clothing and dance shoes with your name.
-No cell phones are to be on in the studio. Phones must remain off and in your dance bag.
-You must wear the proper dress code required for each class. If you arrive to class unprepared, you will not be allowed to participate!
For Parents
-Please call the studio if your child will be missing his or her class.
-Please make every effort to have your children arrive to class on time. We understand that everyone has a schedule, please respect ours.
-You should arrive to the studio 5-10 minutes before the start of class, however do not have the students enter the classroom until their exact start time, as not to interrupt the previous class in session.
-Please be sure to pick up students promptly after class. If it is the last class of the day, everyone including the instructor, will want to get home on time. Please do not make them have to “baby-sit” students after class. -HSDA reserves the right to determine the proper class level for all students.
-HSDA reserves the right to cancel any classes due to insufficient registration (5 student minimum).
-Instructors and schedules are subject to change without notice.
-In case of inclement weather, call HSDA one hour before class time for an update. When school is canceled due to snow, the studio will also be closed.
-HSDA is closed during the East Hampton School System’s December, February, and April Vacation.
-Classes are held on all Monday Holidays. Unless told otherwise.
-HSDA reserves the right to terminate or refuse service to any student or parent displaying disrespect towards the studio or the staff.
Attendance and Commitment
During each dance season, students work on a choreographed dance, which will be performed in the year-end recital.  Our goal is the see each student improve his or her performance and technical skills throughout the year.  A successful performance requires both attendance and commitment to dance classes.  Students who miss class put the entire class at a disadvantage, due to the fact that absent students must be taught the missed material while the rest of the class repeats what they covered the week before.  Your commitment ensures that students receive the most out of our programs and that they spend their time learning, not repeating.

A costume deposit of $40 per class is due in October.  The final payment for costumes will be due in December.  Students withdrawing permanently from class from September through December 1st of each year will receive a full costume refund.  After December 1st, costume money will not be refunded.  If costume deposit is not received by October 31st,       
                                                                  a costume will not be ordered.
